HOME

Successful therapy begins with a good connection with your therapist and that means you feel understood and heard without judgement. Taking the first step is sometimes the hardest.

You may wonder if therapy is for you. Often our reluctance to seek help is related to messages we receive that we should be able to cope with our problems by ourselves. Yet we seek professional help in many other areas of our lives, although none is as important as our mental health and well-being.

Therapy with me will be customized to your needs and goals. From the first session, you need to feel that you are moving forward in a positive direction. As you progress in therapy, I believe you will feel more hopeful and more connected to your true self. It is my goal for you to look forward to our sessions, where you experience a safe and respectful environment for us to work collaboratively.

I can help with:

  • Couples' communication and relationship challenges

  • Parent-child conflict and family relationships

  • Parenting

  • Anxiety & Depression

  • Improving self-esteem

  • Anger and stress management

  • Addictions

  • Trauma

  • Coping with loss, grief and bereavement

  • Stressful transitions in life

  • Workplace stress

APPROACHES

My approach to therapy draws upon over 30 years of experience in mental health counselling in health care and in the corporate sector, including the past 10 years in private practice. Working with families, couples, and one-on-one counselling, I have learned there is no one-size-fits all approach to therapy.

I am trained and draw upon current evidence-based practices. From a strength-based approach that recognizes you to be the expert on your needs, identifying strengths, your ability to access personal resources in order to be able to thrive and build resilience. Our sessions will be customized to fit your needs. We can achieve meaningful results in a relatively short period of time. Learning skills to manage stress, cultivating self-compassion, and moving from feeling negative or overwhelmed to experiencing increased confidence, peace of mind and connection in relationships.

Most important is, that you deserve to feel better. We will work together to achieve outcomes that work for you.
